Getting to know Tom

It’s a cool fall afternoon in a beautiful local park in Winchester. Local businessman Tom Olsewski calls his team together, says hello, and gets ready for a fun practice. He tells the team what is in store for the day’s practice and sends them off for warm-ups. Tom has been volunteering his time coaching youth sports now for over fifteen (15) years in Mission Viejo and Winchester. He has coached basketball, baseball and soccer from first and second grade up to the high school level. He ran a youth basketball league for three years with over 600 boys and girls. He also has a “D” level club license for coaching soccer. Tom takes great pride in seeing kids he has coached and coached against continue playing and play at a high level either in high school or college.

The secret to his success
Working hard has been instilled in him at an early age by his parents. He was told that luck will only take you so far and that typically the harder you work the luckier you will become. This is something he and his wife of 26 years have passed onto their children Corey, Steven, and Stacey. This is also his philosophy in sports, along with what he preaches to the teams he coaches.

He has shown many teams how hard work, dedication, and team-work lead to good things happening.
